Ashley Catharine is a jewelry designer, writer and plus size blogger based in San Diego. After attending FIDM in Los Angeles with an intent to study costume design, she shifted gears and set her sights on plus size fashion. She's blogged about inclusive fashion via her site, Chouette Style for several years whilst working as a retail manager, personal stylist and brand representative to a national fine jeweler. Catharine had always found solace shopping in jewelry departments amongst friends, and was tired of pining after rings she couldn’t try on, or bracelets that would cost more in her size. Chouette Designs is a result of these experiences.
Pronounced “shoo-wet”, and French for “owl”, Chouette also has a double meaning. It’s a slang term for anything cool, hip, chic. Chouette Designs is size inclusive, demi-fine jewelry and adornment for everyone. Founded by Ashley Catharine after years of working in the jewelry industry, Chouette Designs is a testament to the inclusion she has always been a champion of. Chouette Designs is a women and LGBT owned brand based in San Diego, CA.
